The “A” Ewe is where it all began for Prairieland Farms. This elite ewe was purchased in the 2013 Stars of Louisville Sale from MB Genetics and has been the foundation of our breeding program. She is the mother to “ACE” and our 2017 Reserve Champion Ewe and grandmother to many stand out ewes in our program.

The “M” Family

The “M” ewe, is the matriarch of Prairieland Farms. No other female in our flock has been more instrumental in the advancement of our ewe base. You may recognize some of her stand out daughters and granddaughters we have sold over the years.

The “T” Family

In 2015 we received the Encore daughter, MB Genetics 14-125, who went on to be the mother of 6-T2 and 9-T1. These two elite females are excellent mothers in our flock and we have sold many daughters online due to their strong maternal traits.

The “H” Family

In 2016 the “H” ewe was added to capitalize on years of strategic line breeding and the predictable genetics that excel into her daughters.

7F-H2 fall ram (pictured right) was sired by ACE and was sold in 2018 to Held Brothers of SD.

20F-7FH (bottom right) sired by MITCHELL was a high selling fall ewe in our 2021 Online Sale to Kyliegha Daniels in WI.

The “J” Family

The “J” Family originated from Langer 13-748J, a maternal sister to Jenna Langer’s 2012 Wisconsin Sheep & Wool Festival Supreme Ewe. She was the dam of 5-J1 “Josie”, sold to Troy Longenecker in the 2015 Stars of Louisville Sale, and 5-J2. The 5-J2 ewe has gone on to produce many top selling ewes for us at the Ohio Sale and online.

The “W” Family

The “W” or Wilma Family has been an interesting addition to our flock genetics. In 2014 we purchased McGuire 13-3048 the mother of 6F-W2. In 2017 6F-W2 was Supreme Champion Ewe at NE State Fair. The Valedictorian daughter has gone on to produce many ewe lambs that carry her length and style.
